Longmont, CO Sue (BHS '63) and I have been happily married and madly in love for more than 46 years. After attending C.U., I stayed on and served our campus in various administrative capacities including Director of Macky Auditorium, Asst. Director of the University Memorial Center and Director of the Coors Events Conference Center. In 1999 I formally retired from my full time responsibilites to serve as Curator of the Glenn Miller Archive. Sue and I continue to enjoy following our Golden Buffaloes and I still carry on as the stadium announcer for football and arena announcer for basketball. Last year I retired after 20 years as the stadium announcer for the Denver Broncos. We recently moved from Boulder to Longmont to be closer to family. It was the first time since 1860 that a member of my family wasn't living in Boulder. Sue has enjoyed furnishing and landscaping our new home and we have warmed to our new community. Our son, Casey, is a professional photographer in C.U.'s University Communications Department and he and his wife, Michelle and 6 year old grandson, Cameron, live nearby. We are blessed, delighted and honored to be grandparents. Sue volunteers as a naturalist with the Boulder County Nature Association, Boulder County Parks and Open Space and is currently serving on the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee. We enjoy traveling and pursuing our love of birding, botanizing, natural history, photography, family genealogy and research projects related to our interests in history and protecting our environment.

Frank and I have been married 43 years this July and are happily enjoying our time together in CO and AZ. It is truly the best of both worlds. A year and a half ago we moved to Estes Park after 40 years in Boulder. We love living next to Rocky Mountain National Park and being surrounded by the best that Nature has to offer.
We have two sons and 4 grandchildren plus several special extended family members. Our oldest son is a flight for life helicopter pilot in PA. and our second son lives in Parker and works at Sun Microsystems. We couldn't ask for better, more loving daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. All very, very special.
I love to hike and swim. I also continue to do knitting repairs and am currently sewing embellishments on baby clothes for a store in Denver. I love to take quilt classes and have enough projects going that I will need a second life time to get them done!!!
Am looking forward to seeing everyone in August.

Conover, NC Happy 50th anniversary! Seems like a life-time ago that we graduated BHS. What a great school it was. After BHS I attended Trinity University in Illinois for a year and then married my wonderful husband Frank of 47 years. We traveled all over when he was with GSI and IBM. We had 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. We lost two of our precious boys and await the day we will be together again. We settled in NC 30 years ago and it is so beautiful. I worked for the Department of Social Services for 19 years and retired at 62. Loved my job -- awesome experience. Being a mom and grandmother to my 10 grandchildren and being with friends and family is what brings me much joy. Life is good. I enjoyed being in marching band at BHS, even though I fought hard to keep the last chair in the trumpet section!!
God bless you all and hope you have a great reunion even if it is without me.

Ridgecrest, CA I retired from Boeing Info. Services after 18 yrs. at China Lake NAWC where my favorite project was Cobra helicopter librarian. I live in Ridgecrest, at the foot of the Sierras, with my friend John, retired engineer at NAWC. I raised & exhibited sheep & wool for 25 yrs., specializing in rare colored Navajo-Churro sheep. Since leaving Boulder, I have lived in San Francisco, Massachusetts, Oregon, southern California and now E. central CA.
Activities: Sierra hikes; X-C skiing; weaving classes in NM; working through a huge stockpile of wool by spinning and weaving rugs on Rio Grande walking loom.
It would be great to hear from classmates!

Indianapolis, IN Well, it seems I was lost to the class of 59 and now I'm found. I'm sorry I missed the 50th reunion, but it looks like those who attended had a great time. I currently live in Indianapolis, and like all of us it seems like my journey since graduating from high school has been an interesting one. After graduation I stayed in Boulder for nine years until my first husband and I divorced. I then traveled to Atlanta where I studied Interior Design at the Atlanta Institute of Art. After graduation I moved to Denver, married again and had a lovely daughter. When my husband died my daughter and I moved to Baltimore where my brother and his family lived. We all enjoyed that area immensely until my brother accepted a job with Lilly in Indianapolis. My daughter and I put our belongings on the moving van, and along with them ended up here in Indy where our roots have stayed for over 20 years. I met a born and bred Hoosier man who was in the Navy. We kept a long distance relationship for many years while he was stationed in San Diego and doing many deployments. When he transferred to Great Lakes Naval base in the Chicago area eight years ago, we married. It's been a very good thing. My daughter has given me a fine son-in-law and a wonderful two year old grandson. I'm healthy and enjoying every minute of retirement which happened last spring while I was managing a not-for-profit.

Boulder, CO Most important event since graduating from BHS: marriage to Jan, with acquisition of a daughter and two sons. Faith & family are focus. Traci, Bruce,& our two grandchildren live in LA. Time to celebrate graduations? Yes. Our grandson has just graduated from middle school, & our granddaughter has declared her graduation from pre-school Jan & I have graduated from a square dance refresher class. We met square dancing, but have been retired from the sport for 20 years. Remarkably, the dance calls are still memorized in our toes, and we now have the stamina to let our toes express themselves.
Our sons Jeff and Jon both face the challenges of autism, and an inability to express themselves through language. But they are quite proficient in repetitive tasks of bulk mail preparation. Stuffing envelopes, then sealing, labeling, and applying postage. They are thus the primary employees of our family business, the Three J's Mailing Service. Jan & I once thought we would retire to LA to be with our CA clan -- but there is no way that the 3J's could be transported there. So we remain committed to staying in Boulder -- for as the song goes, Boulder's the "best place that I know".
A gander at my past. Briefly taught astronomy. Chased between CU's various libraries finding new applications of silver. Summarized these articles, and published collections of the summaries. Jeff & Jon start their careers by stuffing "New Silver Technology" in envelopes, and getting these ready for mailing. So past, leads to present, both in mail and dance. And we pray and trust that today's activities are the foundations for tomorrows joys and challenges.

Benkelman, NE My home was Boulder, until I retired, after 20 years as Boulder County Sheriff. That was in 1991. I then lived on a boat, and sailed it all over the east coast of the U.S. for a year, finally landing in FL. My wife, De and I operated several art galleries in FL, SC, and MD until 1998, when we made our way back to the Boulder area, via Tucson for a couple of years.
Following the attack on September 11, I re-entered the "catching bad guys" arena, and joined a Longmont company that handles the data behind the nation's 9.1.1 system. So...I'm practicing my skills in the the corporate world these days.
My third marriage (and last) to DeMarie seems to be working well(at least from my perspective) and we live in Firestone, CO. Upon my return to the Boulder area, after recovering from the "sticker shock" of real estate prices, I realized the local politics had left me behind, in fact, had gone completely crazy, and I decided to locate in Weld County. Our children Lane, Merrie, Jodi and Ben have blessed us with 6 grandkids. Most live in the Boulder area, and one is toughing it out in Omaha.
I'm happy to say that I don't recall seeing many of you at the Boulder County Jail from 1971-1991, although I'm sure a few of you slipped by me. I look forward to seeing if y'all are still as young as you think you are.
Best Wishes, Brad

Venice, FL I attended pharmacy school at the University of Colorado and graduated in 1965 and then in 1973, I earned my MS degree. While in college, I legally changed my name from "Clarence" to "Budd. I have worked in the pharmaceutical marketplace: Eli Lilly (sales), retail pharmacy, and hospital pharmacy for about 40 years. I fully retired in 2004. In 1965, I married Judi Walker, Aurora Central, class of '63. We are still married. We have 2 daughters - Ginger (commercial liability insurance claims) and Lisa (emergency room physician), and 2 grandchildren, Jonathon (J.D.) and Rebekah. We lived in Greeley, CO for about 34 years and raised our family there. Late in 2004, Judi and I moved to Venice, a lovely town on the Florida gulf coast about 20 miles south of Sarasota. Our address is 195 Grand Oak Circle, Venice, FL 34292. Our email address is buddjudi@aol.com and our phone # is 941-480-1838 and my cell # is 941-408-4665. I maintain a relatively busy lifestyle dividing my time between physical (yardwork, exercise of many types at the gym), mental (I love Sudoku-the tougher the better), and spiritual (church activities). We also enjoy traveling which is usually centered around family. I enjoy relaxing by watching TV - primarily sports of most any kind. Judi and I live on a small lake and we enjoy watching the birds - eagles, hawks, osprey, ibis, egrets, herons, ducks, anhingas, etc., as well as an occasional alligator or otter. We enjoy many beautiful sunsets from our lanai. I do not miss the use of any snow removal device, such as shovels, blowers, etc. I can enjoy the snow by watching "The Weather Channel".

Loganton, PA Ivan and I are still kickin'. We're still in PA and still the parents of three kids, Jon, Dan and Trish. Needless to say, they are all grown and gone from home - mostly. Jon still works for Avery-Denison. He and his wife Kim purchased a farm three years ago and are now dairy farmers. We've told Jon not to quit his day job, however they are enjoying the farm although they have to work really hard. Ivan and I actually get into some of the work. We're not very good at it, but what can you expect from a couple of city slickers. Between Jon and Kim they have five kids. Jon has a son and daughter, Jim and Alissa, and Kim has three sons, Matt, Cody and Corey. We claim them all. They're all teenagers from 13 to 16. That's a real handful. Dan lives in Nebraska which is too far away. He works for Pfizer and his wife Jo works for Nebraska Cornfed Beef. They have one chick, Allyn, who is the light of their lives. She will be five this summer on June 21, the first day of summer. I call her my summer girl and miss her terribly. Trish is single and a free spirit. She spends most of her time in Philly working at her cleaning business. She comes home every two or three weeks for a long weekend. She says to "detox". She's a courtry girl at heart. She currently has four children, all of whom have four legs and hair. Add that to our current three children who also have four legs and hair, it makes quite a houseful. Ivan is still working for SEDA-COG where he writes grants for municipalities. His first love is bird hunting and he tries to get to Nebraska once a year where there are birds. Our three children, Zack, Mickey and Sammy, join in the fun. I am still employed as well. I have my own abstracting business now where I do title searches for my old law office and also for other offices. We are both still deeply involved in our local charter school and I volunteer one day a week at the school where I do a little of everything. We manage to keep busier than we would like, but maybe someday we can slow down. You retired people are probably laughing out loud at that. I wish I could say that we will see you in August, but, as I said, Ivan's first love is bird hunting and he doesn't have time for both that and the reunion. I will be in Colorado the week prior to the reunion for my family reunion and I plan to go to the Elks on Friday night, but I have to fly out on Saturday, so I'll miss most of the festivity. We'll be planning on the 50th. See you then.

Spokane, WA Wow! 50 years in a few words is a daunting challenge. Louella Frosh, from the Nebraska Sandhills, and I were married in 1960 and I graduated from CSU Forestry School 1965. I was a forester on the Alpine Ranger District, Apache NF, Alpine, AZ until January 1, 1968 when we moved to Salida, CO to start our real estate career. Gary Imig, a former head boy at BHS, started his law career in Salida while we were there. 1971 we relocated to John Day in Eastern Oregon where we continued our real estate career. Since then we have lived in the Pacific Northwest. Our kids went through grade and high school at Imbler, Oregon and on to college at the University of Idaho in Moscow. We retired from real estate in 1986 and started with a volunteer church builders group, Laborers For Christ. We served 6 months in Botswana and upon return to the USA assumed the leadership responsibilities for Laborers For Christ. When the wall went down I travelled to Russia to evaluate church buildings that were returned to the congregations from which they were taken during the Bolshevik Revolution. Lou has spent two summers in China teaching the speaking of English to Chinese teachers of English. I retired in 2006 after 16 years of managing the church builders; during my tenure about 500 churches and church related buildings were undertaken and completed. We have three grandchildren, Elizabeth 17, Ruth 15, and Spencer 12 and see them often. Daughter Ann is a civil engineer with her own practice specializing in traffic engineering. Daughter Ruth leads women s exercises at a spa in Bozeman, MT and is very involved in church work there. Like everyone else we are very busy in retirement with grandkids, music, golf, fishing and hunting, and travel. We are looking forward to the 50th reunion, gee I hope people will still recognize me.

Boulder, CO Life has been good. My second marriage has lasted 28 years and is still going strong. My husband, Fred Fickett, and I are retired and living in Boulder. I have two step sons, also in Boulder. We hike and bike, travel some, party some (although recovery takes a lot longer now). I've taken up quilting which gobbles up lots of time.

Arvada, CO Getting so old it's hard to remember where I am right now let alone where I've been. You see I retired 10 years ago. I vaguely remember having worked for the county and state government in Colorado for some 30 years after graduating from UNC in 1964. I have lived in Hugo, Grand Junction, Aurora, and Denver and somewhere along the line I was married, had two wonderful daughters, and divorced. I am now and have been for the past 10 years happily remarried to Sandralea, who is also presumably retired. She has four grown boys.
Sandralea and I now live in one of those covenant restricted communities in Arvada, and have a 4 bedroom house that constantly seems to need lots of maintenance both inside and out. We do lots of volunteer work, have lots of hobbies, and fill a little of our spare time with travel. Every year for the past five years we have edited and published four newsletters and two 64 page booklets (directories) for the Colorado Elks Association. When I stop to think (which does not come easy) it seems like we are busier now than when we were actually paid for working.
I hope to see all my all my old high school friends at the upcoming reunion.

No City, State The next great adventure is Rongelop...Hawaii and turn left 1500 miles to Majuro,Marshall Islands, Then north on an air charter to an old hydrogen bomb test site. No one has been fishing there for 50 years. The indiginous people move back later this year. Scuba diving there should be outrageous! And I should return glowing in the dark. Anyone care to sit next to me? See everyone in August, Good times, Dick

Boulder, CO Still in Boulder after all these years. My wife Kay and I were married in 1963. I graduated from CU in 1965 with a BA in English Literature. After a short stint at Arapahoe Chemicals, worked for Neodata Services for twelve years and for the University of Colorado for twenty years, primarily as a programmer/analyst, retiring from CU in 2003. We have two wonderful children. Our son is an attorney in Greeley, Colorado and our daughter with her husband and two children live in Boulder. We have a great time babysitting the grand kids once a week and are thoroughly enjoying retirement.

Farmington, NM I've been married twice, divorced once and widowed once; and have a son and a daughter. My son lives in Longmont, and my daughter lives in Boise, Idaho. I've lived in Farmington, NM since 1979 and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and high desert/mountain environment. I've worked at San Juan College since 1981, and have also earned an Associate degree in Business Administration. I make several trips each year to Colorado to visit my family, scattered from Colorado Springs to Longmont and Boulder.
I'm still horse-crazy and ride every chance I get. Lots of BLM land and mountains, with room to ride in this part of the country. Lookin' forward to seeing my former classmates. Dixie

Carlsbad, CA Well I would like to start my saying that from high school, I went to CU, graduated and then went on to a very successful career as a professional golfer. But if I said that, what would be left for Hale Irwin to say on his 50th anniversary from Boulder High. Therefore, I will leave that story for Hale. I did, however, after high school, enroll at CU on my special six year program, along with summer schools, in route to a BA degree. Speaking of Hale Irwin, I have always owed his mother a special thank you. As head of student employment at CU, over the years, she found me at least 10 to 15 jobs while I was in school, and as soon as I was fired from the last one, she found me a new one. I couldn't have survived without her help. In fact, because of her, I learned how to play tennis, which I still play to this day. She asked me one summer if I played tennis and I lied and said yes. She needed an instructor for a bunch of kids and I got the job. I took a crash course in how to play the game and decided I could teach little kids. In addition, I though if Bob Owens, a fellow basketball player, could play tennis, I surely could. Of course when the kids complained, I was fired, but as usual Mrs. Irwin got me another job. In fact, she also encouraged me about my study habits and said if I actually went to all of my classes, I might eventually graduate. She was so right and it only took six years. I should add that another job I had while at CU, which lasted for about 5 years, was as a ballroom dance instructor with Fred Astaire. I still can be heard, while dancing, saying to my partner, "back, back, side together, forward." It totally pisses my wife off. After CU, my height, with help from my incredible intellect, landed me a job with Standard Oil of Indiana. I was in a room with about 15 other applicants where we could hear the discussion about who to hire. We all heard the executive VP say he liked the tall guy best of all. Naturally, the short guy in the room suggested we find the tall guy and kill him. You know what they say about short people is basically true. I moved to Salt Lake with the job and grew to hate it. Too many bosses. So I quit and moved back to Denver, got a job at a bank and quite by accident ended up as a staff real estate appraiser. Around 1969, after about 3 or 4 years, I quit and went out on my own as an independent appraiser. That was about 40 years ago. However, I would not recommend self employment to most people. I have had many gruelling 18 hour days. In fact my typical day, especially since I moved to San Diego over 20 years ago starts early in the morning with 2 or 3 sets of tennis. I then follow that up with a coffee break and a visit to the beach. I usually need this time to clear my head and take in the action at the beach. One time Playboy was photographing a bunch of candidates for Playmate of the month and that certainly helped clear my head. After my time at the beach it is usually about 10:00 AM and the freeways are relatively clear. I try to work in about 3 or 4 appraisals, depending on how busy I am, between the hours of 10 AM and 2:30 or 3:00 in the afternoon. However, I always try to be at the golf course by 3 or I can't get 9 holes before dark. But my 18 hour day is not finished by the end of the golf day. I still have my appraisals to work up. Many times I am still working on them late in the evening. I have been following this very tiring routine for much of the past 40 years, tennis, followed by beach time, followed by 2 or 3 hours of work, followed by golf and then followed by several more hours of work. As I said, not many people could survive this kind of daily routine. As far as my personal life goes, I have been married more than once, but far less than say someone like Mickey Rooney. I have two grown children, a daughter in Denver and a son near me in Southern Calif. If I recall correctly, their mother is my second wife. However, the 70's and 80's were kind of a blur to me since I was almost always between wives, looking for the next ex Mrs. Smith. I remember spending most of my free time at the various Denver discos. In fact, speaking of Mickey Rooney, in the late 70's I dated his 4th or 5th wife, who at the time lived by herself in Denver. She forgot to tell me that she was still married to Mickey at the time and that he could be very jealous with a mean temper. You know how short people can be. I moved to San Diego in the mid 80's, met my current wife and am, remarkably, still married. In the mean time, I think Mickey called off his hit team looking for me. Changing the subject, I think putting up with my gruelling work and life schedule the past 25 years has helped keep me young. I am still working the long hours and anticipate the next 40 years will be just as exciting. But I may be wrong on that count. I haven't decided about the reunion yet. I was promised good weather in Estes Park by the committee, but I don't know if I can trust them. So I may or may not see some of you then. Good luck to all.
Doug Looney

Boulder, CO Mary Ann (whom I met when we were both freshmen at CU) and I live in the mountains west of Boulder. We have two children, Shannon, who lives with her husband and two children in Fairfield, CT, and Mark, who lives with his wife and two children in Wilmington, NC.
After college, I spent two years as an Army lieutenant, teaching at the military's journalism school. Subsequently, I wrote for various newspapers and magazines in Nashville, Des Moines, Washington, D.C., and then, for more than 22 years, was a senior writer for Sports Illustrated in New York City. I've written two books.
These days, I still teach a boring sports and literature course each year at the CU School of Journalism, trade futures (such as corn and wheat) unsuccessfully and play golf abysmally. Worse, we endure way too many interminably dull meals and outings with class member Travis Rusheon Vardell and her husband, Ken.

Wenatchee, WA I have lived in the Wenatchee, WA. area for the last 25 years. During that time I have been in the nursing field specializing in Ophthalmology. I am currently semi-retired and working only fill-in or some part-time hours as needed. I married Donald D. Larkin on September 6,1997. I had dated Don way back during Boulder High school days. We both "found" each other again in 1995 and are very happy together. We waited a long time for such happiness!!! We get back to Boulder quite often as Don has a daughter there and I still have family in CO. I have a niece and see her whenever we get to Boulder. The rest of my family is on the western slope. I feel very lucky to have continued many friendships in Boulder since high school days. So always call and get together when we are in town. I hope we are able to attend the reunion, but don't know at this time. I have a daughter in TX. and a son in the Seattle area. Don has the daughter in Boulder and a daughter in Safford, AZ., and a son in Phoenix, AZ. Lots of people to visit. Between us we have 8 grandchildren. We like to travel and do so as much as possible. Don is still working too so is a challenge to co-ordinate our time. Hope to see you in the summer. Edie Larkin

I retired from The Children’s Hospital (Denver) in 2002 & moved to Grand Junction. Missing my family (especially the grandchildren) and friends I moved back. Bought a place close to Lake Loveland.
I am a quilter (It is addictive) and volunteer and I enjoy traveling.
I hope this generation learns a lesson from the state of our economy.. Like it is not the material things that are important, but family and friends.
Wondering what the next 20 yrs will bring. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the 50th….

Farmington, UT If it hadn't been for my 401(k) becoming a 101(k) in this last downturn, I'd be retired from my second career. Still may be by next January!  Latest joy is my one and only grandchild, Vaughn. He's three, and what a pistol!  Considering a move to the Caribbean upon completion of my consulting career. Fell in love with the place in 2005 when attending my son's wedding in St. Thomas. I continue to sing with a very good chorus, the Saltaires, and will once again compete at International in Anaheim in July. Looking forward to the 50-year gathering!

Boulder, CO Still in the same town, same place, same husband, same kids, same grandkids (although I keep wondering how I got this old) so I consider myself pretty lucky! I am a Mortgage Loan Consultant and will probably keep working for awhile since I like it. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!!!

Taylor Mill, KY I am semi-retired after having been a professor and administrator at several universities. I also served in several state governments administrations and concluded my career as a CEO of non-for-profit community medical centers. Currently, I consult in the area of health administration, volunteer as a SCUBA diver at the Newport aquarium, compete in and coach table tennis, and travel as much as possible. More importantly, I am recently remarried to a beautiful lady, Louise, who works as a health planner for a multi-county health department; and I have two daughters and five grandchildren living in Kentucky and Colorado.

Nampa, ID We've lived in a good era! The last 5 decades have been sprinkled with joys. And we've had the freedom to dance anywhere we wanted in the sun. I chose the clean open spaces of Idaho to spend the last 27years. The fields, orchards and mountains continue to nourish my sense of appreciation and gratitude. A synopsis of my life might be that I had 3 sons (chemical engineer, electrical engineer, and an attorney), I have 4 granddaughters, I spent the last of my working years as a computer liaison for a church organization, I was a Hospice volunteer for 10 years, and I wrote a book about the power of gratitude called THANKS. Life has been a mixture of good and bad, the path has in some ways been winding and perilous. But I've found, as I hope you have, that it leads to a most amazing view! May you fully experience and savor the joys that God has so freely given is my prayer for you.

Longmont, CO I retired as the Safety Director for the security firm at Rocky Flats January this year. Joyce and I spent the next two months in Florida, a nice beginning to a life of leisure. We hope to travel a lot in the next few years. I have been doing a little contract work but I don't want to overdo it. I always look forward to the reunion and hope to renew friendships with a bunch of the class of 59. See you there.

Aurora, CO I graduated from UNC and student taught in physical education at Boulder High School and coached the JV football team. Suzie and I moved to Southern California in 1965.  I taught school for two years in the Anaheim School District.  Found out that teaching wasn’t really my bag in the 60’s!  Went into Computer Technology in California at Hughes Aircraft then moved back to Colorado in 1972.  Worked for United Banks of Colorado, Norwest, and Wells Fargo Bank in information technology.  Retired from Wells Fargo in 2001.  I have been substitute teaching in the Douglas County School District (senior high and middle school computer technology and math) since retirement. WOW, times have changed !  Hobbies include sailing at Cherry Creek Reservoir where we slip our 25’ Catalina and traveling.  We especially like the Caribbean Islands and “yes” we are Parrot Heads!  In the spring we usually travel to the BVI and bareboat charter our own sailboat for two weeks sailing around the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.  I also like golf but have not mastered the skill yet.  We have two grown children, Kellie our daughter who lives in St. Louis and Ken who lives in Highland Ranch, CO. We have six grandchildren ranging from 8 years to 17 years!, 3 boys and 3 girls. We spend a lot of time keeping up with their high school sports and little league. Looking forward to the reunion!

Boulder, CO Ain't it amazing how many marriages "adhered" over the years, in the traditional format. That's great!
I graduated from SMU with a BBA and MBA,then attended CU Law School. Upon graduation, I took the position of Vice President and Sr. Trust Officer at (now defunct) National State Bank of Boulder - for five years. Then followed 15 years of law practice, then I semi-retired to run my family's business (corn/soybean farming in the Midwest). It is our pleasure to provide food and fiber to all you. For a price.
I live in the mountains above Boulder, in Boulder Heights Subdivision, which, even given the fire danger, is nevertheless a swell place to pass the time when I'm in town.
In addition to travel, I enjoy Scuba and skiing (sure, skiing like an old man, but my kids tolerate my presence)and keeping up with politics and what's up with the world.
I was married in 1966, divorced in 1974, and have two kids, girl Sara with Dept. of Energy in Golden, and a son, John Jr., who is still,um, "finding himself" here in Boulder. No grandkids yet.
I travel a lot by RV and other conveyance, and at last count, I was at my home in Boulder for four months out of the last 15. I "winter" in Palm Springs, and travel to other places as well, such as New Zealand and Fiji last November.
Life has been good to me, and I suppose I will look as much a stranger to those whose pix are on this website, as many of them do to me. 45 years! Jeez! I'm lovin' this website, as I, like many of you, am an inveterate Web browser. See you at the reunion.

Littleton, CO Since leaving BHS, most of my career has been in education. I taught history and philosophy at the high school level for 31 years until vocal cord damage forced me to quit full-time teaching. I worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver in their teacher education department for 5 years and then decided that 36 years in education was enough. For the last 4 years I've been working for an orthopedic surgeon as his surgery and testing scheduler. I love this new "career" and the bonus is that there are no papers to grade!  Al (also a retired teacher) and I have been married for 35 years.  Al is scheduled to have a total knee replacement on August 5th, so I guess I'll have to wait until our 50th reunion to try to attend. When I'm not working or care-taking (I also have responsibility for my 91 year old mother), I love to read, do cross stitching, and play bridge.  I'm overwhelmed by the amount of work the committee has put into this reunion and thank you for your efforts. Also, this web site has been great fun.

Boulder, CO Since leaving Boulder High I have lived in many places, including Guatemala, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. In 1980 I returned to Boulder. In 1989 I married Eddie Crowder the former CU head football coach and athletic director. He has two sons and a daughter from his first marriage. I have a son David and daughter Becky from my first marriage and they both live in New York City. Eddie and I love to travel and have the opportunity to quite a bit with our Quixtar internet business that we own. We do some speaking engagements with the business and just recently spoke in Barbados and St. Lucia. We were side-lined last year while Eddie was treated for Hodgkins Lymphoma and are happy to say that he is now in remission and feeling great. Every day is a blessing.

Arvada, CO In 1972, I married Bob Johnson. I had three sons, he had two, and together we had Jeremy. Truly yours, mine and ours. All the boys are grown, of course, and we have 10 grandchildren that keep us busy constantly. We are both still working. Won't be able to retire until we are 65.....lost too much in the market. I still work at the City of Arvada in Human Resources. Bob is still a Contractor/Carpenter, specializing in interior trim and finish work on custom built homes. Our passion is roaming on Sundays in our corvette, our only toy. In our retirement, we hope to travel the US as much as possible. This will be the first reunion I have missed. We are going to Toronto to a car race. The highlight for me will be Niagra Falls, which I have never seen. Hope you all have a terrific time at the reunion and I hope to see you all at the 50th.

We have truly had life's adventure moving up and down and back up again all at full speed and no looking back. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I hope you all had a good life as well. Lee Wilcox

Terrace Park, OH Here we are at those "crossroads" again! A time of change. So many of us are retiring and trying to figure just exactly what we want to do with the "rest" of our lives - just like we did the last time we saw each other, when we were graduating from dear old BHS.
Here goes - I graduated from CU, married John who graduated from CSM. We spent a couple of years with the Army in Arizona, some more years in Indiana so he could get a Ph.D. and then a lot of years in Missouri where he taught Geological Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla (what else could he teach with a name like Rockaway?). I worked at the hospital (Purchasing Director)and the University as a Transfer Coordinator. Managed a half dozen mission trips to South America. Along the way we had four children, who are all engineers of one kind and another. They are located two in Kentucky, one in Florida and one in Wisconsin. When John retired in 2001 we moved closer to our kids, not too close, to Cincinnati. We have 5 1/2 grandchildren who are all above average and very good looking. We have restored a great old house that was built in 1869, and since we moved to the village he grew up in, he use to play in the house when he was little. We are absolutely loving the "big city" pleasures and enjoying living in a village. It is the best. I am really looking forward to seeing so many of you at the reunion. Take care.

Woodland Park, CO Hoyt and I married in 1965 and left Colorado in 1966. At that time, it was our dream to return to Colorado. We realized that dream in May of 2002 when we "retired" and moved to Woodland Park, a "quaint mountain hamlet" just west of Colorado Springs. We are enjoying the clean, cool mountain climate after spending 25 years in Tempe,Arizona. I am looking forward to renewing friendships and getting reacquainted with "old" friends at the reunion.

Edmonds, WA Hello all. After graduating from CU, I worked worked for a short period of time in Ft. Worth, before quitting to go back to school. Looking for a place to do some skiing again, I wound up at UW in Seattle, where I got used to the rain, grew webs between my toes, and remain to this day. Not at UW, though, where many friends and family thought I would turn gray before leaving graduate school. For quite a while I worked designing a variety of military sonar, but for the past several years am doing sort of the same kind of thing applied to the human body in medical ultrasound. Cathy, my wife of nearly 30 years, and I live in a Seattle suburb with our 22 year old daughter, and a 19 year old son. I quit ski patrolling only a few years back, but still get into the Cascades a little, and while margaritas on the beach seems like a more humane way to spend the winter, I am still plugging away in the rain and the snow, with retirement and the beach a distant mirage. I don't expect to be able to attend this year, but wish I could, and hope you all have a wonderful time.

Evergreen, CO After graduating from Boulder High, attended Colorado University and worked in the Dean's Office at the CU School of Law. Then it was off to San Francisco for almost four years, where I was a legal secretary. Returned to Colorado, worked for Holland & Hart and met my husband, Phil North, in Denver. We were married in Evergreen on August 1, 1970 and celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary this year. Raised a son, Rylan, and a daughter, Shawna, and are the proud grandparents of two, Tessa and and Lucy. Have lived mostly in the Evergreen area, except for 8-1/2 years in Dallas in the 1990's. Enjoyed being a full-time volunteer while raising our kids (soccer, figure skating, etc.) and now volunteer for Evergreen Animal Protective League, trying to find forever homes for unwanted pets. Love being back in Evergreen after living in Texas and have also enjoyed travel to Ireland and France. Have great memories of Boulder High, and remember when it was the only high school in Boulder and there were only two junior high schools!

Bakersfield, CA Our lives have changed a bit since retiring in 2004. Of course, we return to Colorado every chance we get to bask in the scenery, eat at favorite haunts, and enjoy the company of family and friends. We've had some pretty awesome travels to Alaska, Greece and Nova Scotia. I substitute as an English teacher a couple of days a month, am the regional editor of the Sierra Club Kern-Kaweah bimonthly publication, "The Roadrunner," and play occasional babysitter for two adorable granddaughters in Long Beach. My husband, Evan, holds "court" on Tuesday mornings at a nearby women's prison where he teaches English. I'm looking forward to our upcoming reunion...imagine, 50 years!

Craig, CO Graduated CU/1963, married Bill Waite and moved to Craig where we both taught school. I taught 3rd and 4th grades(13 years) and Bill taught HS English(17 years). Then we opened Craig Realty and worked in the real estate field for the last 25 years. We "discovered" Lake Powell in the 80's and our sports passion is now boating and waterskiing. We split our Colorado time between Craig and Grand Junction and boat in Nevada at Lake Mead (yes-we still waterski and wakeboard!). Everything is on a "so far, so good" basis at this point!!! We have 4 grandchildren - our oldest is attending CU now, as did her dad, so the circles are completing. Hope to see many of you at our 45th!

Longmont, CO Doing well, and coming to terms with getting older, plus the age-annoyances that infringe on my lifestyle! Have enjoyed a good life, in spite of challenges, in Denver, San Diego, Colorado Springs, and Longmont since 2000. Especially enjoy traveling--trips with my husband Merrill to Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, Canada, and this fall to London and Paris, plus cross-country from east to west coast; and as often as possible, to NY to spend time with artist daughter Sonja, and to west coast to visit TBI-challenged son David. Enjoy friend-time, extended family-time, limited gardening, and reading, even if too much these days about health issues! Career highlights included writing a book on organizing (and finding again) home papers, and chapters in two text books on organizing paper, space, possessions with individuals living with traumatic brain injury challenges.

Santa Barbara, CA I graduated from Vassar College and married a Welsh foreign student, Desmond Jones, in 1963. We moved to Santa Barbara in 1965 to do graduate work at UCSB and have lived here ever since. Desmond taught political science and economics in local community colleges for 30 years. Now he takes adult ed art classes, does woodworking, gardens, and enjoys reading whatever he wants whenever he wants.
Our daughter, Bronwyn (1967-77), was bright, cheerful, and articulate, but totally paralyzed due to infantile spinal muscular atrophy. After she died I wrote "Home Care for the Ill and/or Disabled Child." Our son, Gareth, works in San Jose as a landscape gardener, doing what to him is a fascinating and multi-faceted job perfect for the ADHD mind.
I have been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and Citizenship part time with Santa Barbara Adult Ed since 1988. Figuring we are never too old to learn more, I went to England in 1990 to do a Ph.D. in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) at the Institute of Education (University of London). In 2000 I taught for a summer in Harbin, China. Since 2001 I've taken community college geology classes and gone on camping field trips to the Sierras, Death Valley, and the Colorado Plateau.
My husband and I often swim in the outdoor Olympic-size city pool, wiggle arms and legs at the community college fitness center, do Pilates, walk on the beach, hike in the foothills, and I like to backpack in the Sierras. We host many US and international visitors (see www.servas.org). We enjoy having visitors, so give a call if you are ever in the area. Unfortunately I can't make the 45th, but will try to make the 50th!

Fort Myers, FL After leaving BHS I went east to college at Harvard. After graduation in 1963 I went to CU law school for three years in Boulder. I then spent a year as a law clerk at the CO Supreme Court in Denver, 9 months at the U.S. Dept. of Labor in D.C. and then moved to the United Air Lines law department in Chicago. About 3 years later I left them to work for an insurance organization now know as Aon Corporation - the world's second largest commercial insurance broker. I took early retirement from them in 1995. My wife, Kathy, and I have been married since our senior year in college. We have 16 grand nieces and grand nephews - many of whom live in the Boston area where we live. Annapolis, MD Paula and I have been married for 37 years and have two kids. Our son, Brendan, is an oceanographer living in San Francisco with his wife Christi. They finally provided us with our first grandson last year. While it is a long trip from the east coast we manage to get out to see our grandson every few months. Our daughter, Summer, is closer, living in DC and teaching high school chemistry. She lives with a struggling actor.
After graduating from CU I was offered a job overseas in international development. Now 40 years later I am still at it. Some of us take longer to learn. Mostly I have worked in water resources development in Africa and the Middle East but some in other parts of the world. Presently, my work takes me to three countries in West Africa. My kids used to complain about being deprived of American culture but I guess they survived anyway.
We presently have a home on the Cheaspeake Bay in Annapolis and would enjoy visits from old friends. The beer is cold.

Kent, WA After graduating from BHS in 1959 I traveled up the road to Fort Collins and spent four years at Colorado State University, graduating with a BS degree in 1963. In my junior year at CSU I met a cute coed from Aurora, Colorado, Sharon Ellis. We were married in February 1964. My professional career began in 1963 with a five year tour of duty in the Air Force as a Management Engineering Officer stationed at Maxwell AFB in Alabama and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. In 1968 I left the Air Force and spent 25 years working as an Industrial Engineer for IBM. Assignments with IBM took Sharon and I back to Boulder for 9 years and then on to Tucson, Arizona and, finally, to Seattle, Washington. During that time I was able to pick up my MBA at CSU in 1975. In 1994 I took early retirement and have spent the past 8 years working in the Puget Sound area as a consultant and teaching graduate level business courses. In 2004 both Sharon and I are fully retired. We have one daughter, Barbara, who is finishing her teaching degree requirements. Barbara has a four-year-old son, Logan. Logan keeps us busy coming over every day after pre-school while his mother is in class. When we are not helping out with our grandson we are traveling and have had some fabulous trips on cruise ships. Since 1964 we have cruised in Alaska, Eastern Canada/New England, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, South America, the British Isles, the Baltic, and Tahiti. 45 years have passed so quickly! After looking at the reunion alumni list and my old ODAROLOC I am looking forward to renewing old acquaintances.

Hey. 45 yrs in 250 words? Right.
First decade: married Hank Hibberd, had two wonderful sons.
Second decade: divorced Hank Hibberd, worked for IBM as a Marketing Manager while raising the boys. Moved with IBM to San Francisco, Ca. in 1975. Both sons graduated from college, started their careers and married.
Third decade: Joined a group of former IBM'ers to work with a software developer, MicroPro International (Wordstar) (Tom Blaylock was there as Exec. VP of Product Development while I was VP of Sales)
Fourth decade: left the corporate world and currently work as an Independent Real Estate Broker and from time to time, do Financial Management for several car dealerships. So far, so good. A few special relationships, two happy, successful sons with great wives, five adorable grandsons and one feisty grand daughter I talk with or email my twin sister, Karen, every day and am hoping she can meet me there in August. I've loved my work, loved my friends and am living in the Santa Cruz Mountains with my very cute "friend" of five years, Paul Angel. It's beautiful here and only five minutes to the beach - my favorite place to go. Three years ago I traveled for six months in Mexico and cashed in my entire 401K to buy an oceanfront condo in Manzanillo. I'm there at least a month each year and hope to do 6 months here, 6 months there - in 2 yrs, 8 months and 15 days. (Get it?)

I retired in December of 2006 and moved to Bucerias, Nayarit, Mexico, which is about 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. I've just finished building a home, with two vacation rental units, for my family and U.S. or Canadian snow birds. Can't wait to see you all. PS The Web Site is Fabulous!

Boulder, CO Rodney and I will celebrate 47 wonderful years this fall and have 5 kids, Scott, Brett, Troy, Chad and Lisa and 9 very busy grandkids, 6 girls and 3 boys between the ages of 3 and 22. Rodney started working for my father at Boulder Metal Products in 1960 and bought the business from him in 1975. I started helping out in 1978 and slowly one by one each of the boys started there also. In 1996 Rodney decided that we were too tied up with me doing the books so we talked our daughter into taking my job and now all the kids are in the process of buying it from him. Rodney still goes down as he says "to stir the pot"! But really he enjoys the metal work while the boys do the Heating and Air Conditioning. We have a motorhome and spend the winter in Surprise, Arizona. We have a place on the golf course on the 13th fairway and enjoy playing as much golf as we can work in. The grandkids have all spent time with us down there or traveling other places with us in our motorhome. We are always together with our large gang and love every cherished moment with them - we all work together and play together and just this past winter our 22 year old grandson, Kellen, decided he wanted to work there too. But I do hope he decides to go back to college. This week-end we will celebrate Scott and his wife Cheri's 25th wedding anniversary. I love to quilt and have finished 15 in the past few years with more waiting to be finished. We built our home in the mountains 35 years ago and still live here and love it! Had the opportunity to have a bear walk in our garage a couple of days ago while we were sitting at the counter drinking our coffee! He was pretty busy and did not linger very long. The years have gone so fast - the Lord has blessed us and our family very much. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in August.

Left her, barefoot and pregnant, in January, 1963 (sub-zero temperatures and snow everywhere) to seek construction work in a warmer climate. Arrived in Southern California, immediately found work, and Diana and beloved Sheltie dog arrived several months later. Moved into our first house in Canoga Park followed 3 weeks later by boy child arriving the first of July. Infant of the female variety showed her tiny face 12 months later. After construction of a new house, we moved to Fountain Valley, California in the fall of 1964. Was employed by Shell Oil Company in personnel in 1966. After obtaining BS degree in Management, was transferred to Anacortes, Washington (located on the first island in the San Juan Island chain) in 1972 - Diana then retired from the corporate world to dedicate her life to home and hearth. We were then transferred to Odessa, Texas in 1979 and I took over the personnel function for the Shell Refinery.
Some would recognize Odessa as "West Texas" while others refer to it as "Bush country" which is an area most likely not revered by Boulderites. The winters are mild, summers hot, nights cool, streets wide and clean, and a population of 90,000 friendly people. We live on a private golf course which provides us w/ a panoramic view of the fabulous West Texas sunsets. Daughter and husband live in Odessa and son lives 55 miles east w/ wife and our 2 grandchildren. Diana's mother resides in an assisted living facility in Odessa and celebrated her 97th birthday in March. Diana and I will achieve 44 years of wedded bliss shortly after the class of "59 reunion.
I am now retired, but not very active physically. Low back problems have not been corrected despite multiple surgeries. As a result, attendance at the 45th reunion is most unlikely.
Hope all of you have a great time - perhaps Brad Leach can offer a toast to the class of '59 in my behalf during the cocktail hour at Anderson Farms?

Newell, WV I, Tonya (Toni Neff) Lavell, since leaving Boulder High School have had a full rich life.
After graduating I stayed 1 year in Boulder working at Esquire Magazine on Portland Place as a key punch operator.
When I left Boulder I went to El Dorado, Kansas to pursue a career in nursing at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. We stayed there one year and the school closed and they transferred us to Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. I did not finish the nursing course and got married in 1962, in Kansas City. Before my daughter was born, we moved back to Boulder and I worked for Mayflower Moving and Storage. While working for Mayflower I had a car accident and was laid up for about a month. Then went to work in the Purchasing Department of the University of Colorado until 1972. I met my second husband, Charles Lavell and we got married in 1971. Lived in Boulder and Lafayette until 1977 when we moved to Los Angeles, CA and ran our own business for 20 years there. In 1997, we then moved to Elkton, OH for 7 years, East Liverpool, OH for 1 year and now we live in Newell, WV which is just across the Ohio River.
We moved here, because when we lived in California, we owned two thoroughbred race horses and decided to come here to Mountaineer Park to race.
There is more, but I think I might be running out of words.
Hope to hear from some of you and maybe I can remember if I see pictures.

Superior, CO After leaving BHS I started school at Colorado University in the School of Architecture. One semester later I transferred into the CU Business school, attending for one year. I spent the next 2 1/2 years in the US Army, returning to CU in the fall of 1966. I graduated in 1969 with a BS in Marketing. I met my wife Sherrie (35 years this December) in one of my elective classes. We were married December 6, 1969 in Colorado Springs at the Episcopal Church in the Broadmoor. I started working for IBM in January of 1970, retiring in June of 2001. I held various staff and management positions with IBM in Boulder and Rochester, Minnesota. We have three wonderful children. Lynsey, who graduated from Boulder High, and the University of Minnesota. She is engaged to be married next year. Jeffrey, who received his Masters in Computer Science from CU in December of 2003 and was just married (May 15th) and Scott who is not married or engaged at this time. I am enjoying retirement, fly fishing every chance I get, taking vacations (with the last three being to Mexico and Hawaii) and in general love living in Colorado and the Boulder/Denver area in particular. My wife Sherrie and I will not be able to attend the reunion in August.

Pacific Grove, CA Got out my ODAROLOC from '59, and just realized how much fun and cool we were. Thanks to all of you good friends for the kind comments and the encouragement to remain "crazy". I have done my best. Published my book and have a website (www.enrichmath.com) that I invite all to visit at least to see a picture of my beautiful grandsons. Glad to say I have still been making music as coordinator of our local "Hootenanny" for the past 12 years. Still dancing to any great tunes with my main squeeze of 46 years.
Love to all, Vic

Leesburg, FL After graduation from high school, I joined the Women's Army Corp's, and ended up stationed in Denver and Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, where I met my husband. I spent 2 years in the army, was discharged when we married, and eventually we were stationed in Germany where we lived for almost three years. We had two sons. We moved back to the states and settled in West Virginia, his home state. We divorced after l0 years of marriage, but I remained in West Virginia, and two years later met Don, my husband of 3l years. We have 6 living children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grands.
Don is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, and is serving as Pastor of Senior Ministries at our church in Clermont FL, l4 miles from where we live. We are both active in our church.
Over the years I have worked as a cosmetologist, an executive secretary, and I have owned my own business for l0 years, selling needlecraft supplies and doing custom picture framing. However our church work was always our first priority, and has given me the most satisfaction. At this writing we are preparing to go to Kenya Africa on our first mission trip. I will tell you all about it in August.
